Ben Thomson

Ben Thomson is the chair and CEO founder of Omnos. He is responsible for driving the growth and strategy of the company.  He has particular responsibility for finance functions, liaising with shareholders and funding.

Ben has been a non-executive director of over 25 companies; including being the chair of Planet Organic, National Galleries of Scotland and Creative Scotland and a director of companies such as Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Good Hemp and Wellington Underwriting.

Ben has forty years of experience in the financial service sector, starting his career at Kleinwort Benson.  He was chief executive and chairman of the investment bank Noble Group for 13 years. He then founded two fund management businesses and has been the senior independent director of two quoted investment trusts. Ben has founded seven other organisations including two fund management businesses, a political think tank and an insurance broking company.

Ben has always had a key interest in health, having been an international athlete for ten years. He was originally a physicist which gave him the background to write the initial programming of the Omnos platform.  He founded Omnos in response to the frustration of not being able to get personalised information to help assess his health and understand what lifestyle changes would improve his health outcomes.
